Do you need an account to use your service?

Short answer is no. We accept cash, visa and master card for payment.

Long answer is no, but if you set up an account then you are eligible for corporate pricing (better pricing).  Setting up an account streamlines the whole process of placing an order making it easier for you and us.

Do you need to do certain number of deliveries a month to set up an account?

No – you can set up an account whether you do zero deliveries or if you have hundreds of deliveries. Unlike many of our competitors who have a minimum billing amount per month or are not interested in small accounts under $100.00 per month, we are happy to take on new clients, big and small.

Do you have enough drivers to complete our deliveries in a timely manner?

Yes, we have 6 full time drivers and 4 part time drivers (on call – when we have increased demand). We also have a number of qualified drivers who would like to work for City Wide Courier when we expand.

How can I set up an account with City Wide Courier?

Find the “set up an account” button on the bottom of this page and every page on our site. Once you are redirected to the set-up page, the process is very fast and easy.

What information do I need to place an order?

Tell us the size of your delivery, where it is going and how fast you want it delivered.

Can I check the cost of a delivery before submitting the order?

Yes you can, simply click on the check price tab.

Does my computer require any special software to place and track orders?

No. All you need is a web browser and a connection to the internet. After you have your account set up, we even have a mobile app available for your smart phone.

I forgot my customer number and password. What should I do?

Just call us and we can assist you. 

What levels of service do you offer?

Regular, Rush, Direct Rush and Critical service. See times and prices on our rate sheet.

Do you have a fuel surcharge?

Yes and No. We implemented a fuel surcharge starting in March 2000. It is adjusted as fuel prices rise and fall. We also have some customers who will not pay a fuel surcharge, so their prices are adjusted accordingly.

How long have you been in business?

This is our 30th year.

What are some of the strangest things you have delivered?

  • Pet store deliveries – crickets, hamsters, love birds, doves,  etc.
  • Hockey sticks – Lanny McDonald’s 66 goal year.
  • Hand gun – evidence for a trial.
  • Soup – chicken noodle for someone’s sick friend.
  • Kitchen sink – for one of our renovation customers.
  • Nuts – gift package with assorted nuts.
  • Cell phone – taken to airport departures – left behind at a Restaurant.
  • Movie Film – Superman movie and others.

Do you deliver outside of Calgary?

We do deliver to surrounding communities – Airdrie, Balzac, Okotoks, Cochrane, etc.

We also offer “Hot Shot” service to any point in Alberta. This service is often faster than flying your package. For example a delivery to Edmonton requires your package to be at the Airport 1 hour before take off, the flight is 1 hour, then your package cannot be picked up until 1 hour after landing. Then your package needs to be driven from the International airport in Nisku this adds another 30 mins. Minimum = 3.5 hours. City Wide Courier = 2 hours and 57 mins.  

Can I track or be notified when my delivery is completed?

You can use our online app to track your shipment live (using Google maps), view what time your delivery was dropped off and who signed for the delivery.

If you prefer, an email with the proof of delivery can be automatically sent to your desired email address.

What types of vehicles are in your fleet?

We have small cars, mini vans, cargo vans and 5 ton trucks (no bicycles at this time).

What are your business hours?

Monday to Friday 8 am to 5pm. After hours and weekend deliveries are available when pre-arranged.

Will you call me if there is a problem?

Yes. We will call you if there are any unusual circumstances; often the driver doing your delivery will call you directly.

What is one of your most positive experiences you have had doing deliveries?

One of our clients requested us to deliver a “Hot Shot” delivery to the provincial building in Edmonton. This was a tender proposal for a multi–million dollar contract. The tender had to be delivered to a specific floor and location to be accepted. Other major couriers could not guarantee the tender would be delivered to this specific location (they would just drop it off at the mail room). Our client GOT the contract!
